About

My name is Matt, and I’m an aspiring amateur astronomer and iPhone astrophotographer.  I’ve always been fascinated with the cosmos.  More recently, I became interested in iPhone photography.  The two interests naturally converged as I found myself trying to capture images (unsuccessfully) of the Moon.  So, in February of 2014, I decided to buy my first telescope.

The goal of this blog is to simply share my experiences and any tips I pick up along the way.  When it comes to amateur astronomy, I started entirely from scratch.  However, progress has been easy to come by, so don’t be concerned if you’re a beginner too.  As time goes on, hopefully I can refine my iPhone astrophotography techniques and share them here too.

As a point of reference, I live in San Diego.  We’re fortunate to have clear skies for the most part here, with the exception of when the marine layer rolls in.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy the site!

I’m working on another project called Win the Morning which is an app designed to help you set and keep your morning routine.  Check it out!
